Duryee Family Prayer Letter - Opposition & Perseverance
Opposition & Perseverance
In our group of language school students this week, we've been praying about two sending churches in transition, two fathers and one mother undergoing serious health concerns, wayward adult children, sick spouses, sick children, and numerous yet-to-be-answered needs like support shortages, vehicles, and wisdom. Plus, we are feeling stupid, tired, and useless because of our lack of language skills. Our grammar teacher asked us, "have any of you felt the pull to just go back home? Like you are needed there for some reason? Because this is the last stop before the field, and if Satan can stop you now, he will."
But we pray before every class, and Chris and I pray each night before bed and before we go to class. Yes, we ask for help and language acumen and good marks on our exams. But we also ask that we would grow us in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We ask for the courage and grace to endure, trusting the process for language acquisition as well as sanctification in trial. This is the last stop before the field. God will not waste this opportunity to make us more like Jesus before we serve those He's called us to.
Thanks for praying us through our introduction to language school. We still have a long way to go but we look forward to what God will do over the next 10 months. Please don't stop praying!

Thanks for praying for the Duryee family! We are currently 93% supported, a $450/month shortage. We are currently attending language school in deep south Texas. Want to help?
