Spring Update from the Duryee Family in Spain!
Your Love is Felt!
Thank you for engaging with us on social media and via email even when we are slow to send out newsletters. We love to hear from you!
A Sort of Quarantine
Like many of you from our home state, we are impacted by the spread of Coronavirus. In an effort to prevent the spread and overwhelming our (excellent) hospitals, the government has suspended school and extracurricular activities and said no gatherings over 1000 people. So, for 3 weeks we will have the opportunity to homeschool! Some of you know this has been a desire of mine and I have asked the Lord to help me make the most of our time together. Almost immediately after the kids go back to school, we will have a 2 week spring break.
Please pray for wisdom for us as the elders in our church decide whether to gather on Sundays, and how long we will avoid meeting for worship and fellowship.
We are not worried about the virus or our health at all. Colleagues have visited our clinic lately and doctors and nurses do not seem alarmed. We are careful about complaining and we are expressing joy and peace to our neighbors who do seem caught up in the panic. We know that we cannot make Spirit-led decisions about life or ministry if we are driven by fear.
Last month we hosted a two day retreat for women at a civic center in Toledo. Women from our mission's churches gathered to hear more about A Woman's Legacy. MANY unsaved women came, including V, a young woman who has been attending our Bible study, and S, a young mother who has recently returned to her Christian faith and desires to please God.
Our Current Needs
Please pray for diligence for Rose to work on her driver license task. It's embarrassing, but it's just not a priority with all her other roles and jobs. Chris will be team teaching Good Soil materials at the seminary in Toledo next month. Please pray for him to speak Spanish well and it for it to be a blessing to the students. We also always appreciate prayers that we would be bold to speak of spiritual things every time the opportunity presents itself.
