I thought this would encourage you
A note from our first week of home assignment
It has been a wonderful few days of reconnecting with our families in the States. Chris’s parents and brother were able to get a visitor’s pass at the airport and they met us as the gate! I didn’t even know that was possible.
We are falling into our routines, and my Bible reading plan includes a Psalm every day. This morning I read Psalm 127. I love it in every translation, but I thought these verses from The Message were so encouraging as we head into August. In our family we try to rest a bit more in August, in preparation for the busy season ahead. May the verses encourage you as well.
Psalm 127: 1-2 If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap. It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?
Will you let us know how we can be praying for you this month? How will you be incorporating rest into your August?
Yours in Christ,
Rosalie for the Duryee family in Spain (except now we’re in the States!)
