We gave up a Sunday this month...
But it was totally worth it!
Dear Partner in Ministry,
October was a busy month for the Duryees on Home Assignment. We spoke at 3 churches and received news that one will take us on for support! They are still praying about the amount, but we are thankful to make a dent in the remaining $1,700 we must raise before we can go back to Spain.
By faith, we reserved one Sunday for something very special.
On October 30, we had the privilege of seeing Susanna baptized by Chris. Susanna has been following Jesus for 2 years now and begging to be baptized. She shared her favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, and a bit of her testimony. It was a joy to see her baptized with her family there to watch, and in the same church both Chris and I were baptized in. However, she has expressed many times how much she wants to go back to Spain to continue her spiritual walk with the church in Cabanillas and her friends at Evangelical Christian Academy. We are so thankful for Susanna and all the ways she loves God and others.
We appreciate your prayers for both our children. We have all shed some tears missing Spain, recently, because we all want to go back and begin what we are certain God has called us to in Cabanillas.
As I mentioned above, we are still about $1,700 short of full support, which is required for our return to Spain. Remember, this home assignment in unique - we have only 6 months to be away from the EU or we could lose our residency! We are hoping to avoid this at all costs (because it would be very costly!)…
